Miscible EOR

By injecting a gas the mobility of the crude is increased when the gas mixes with the oil into a miscible phase. This process is very dependent on the reservoir temperature, pressure crude and gas properties. In contrast to popular belief, not every field is suited for CO2 injection and sometimes a different gas needs to be used.
When planning a miscible EOR development with CO2 a source needs to be found that is matching with the field or sink, this is called source-sink synchronization.
